KUALA LUMPUR: Hospital Pusrawi has clarified that the medical check conducted on Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan was not a sodomy-related examination.
In a statement distributed to reporters, the hospital's general manager Wan Mahmood Wan Yaacob confirmed that Dr Mohamad Osman Abdul Hamid had not examined Mohd Saiful in relation to sodomy complaints.
“Dr Muhamad had advised the patient after examining him to undergo further examination by a specialist at a government hospital.
“There were no further examinations carried out in relation to sodomy complaints,” the statement read.
It also stated that Dr Mohamad Osman was a general practitioner at the Emergency and Accident Clinic and not a specialist.
Wan Mahmood also denied that the hospital had officially issued the report.
“We categorically deny that Pusrawi issued the report officially,” he said.
He added that the hospital had formed an internal committee to investigate the validity of the information and determine if it was the real report.
When asked if the report circulated on the Internet was genuine, he said:
“The doctor did not do a sodomy examination, so the issue of a false report does not exist.”
He said the report being circulated on the Internet looked similar to the original.
“The report looks genuine but the original is with me,” he said, adding that the hospital had yet to ascertain the validity of the report.
